4th IBC World Congress 2023

Dr. Takla was honored to represent Wentworth-Douglass Hospital at the Fourth Annual IBC-University of Oxford World Congress, which took place from Monday 18 September to Wednesday evening, 20 September 2023 at the University of Oxford Examinations School in the United Kingdom. This 3-day event is the most prestigious meeting for the Bariatric, Obesity and Metabolic Surgery fields. The IBC movement aims to deliver high quality unbiased education in an environment of equality to allow all bariatric healthcare professionals to learn and ultimately provide the best possible care for our patients.

The IBC World Congress offers a remarkable and well-coordinated gathering abundant with scientific insights, set against the backdrop of a splendid historic venue.

Dr. Takla was Chair for the IBC-University of Oxford North America Debate on The Magnetic Sphincter Augmentation Device Should be Considered Early in the Management of Medically Resistant GERD in the Patient with a BMI > 35kg/m2. He was also on the Panel during the Experts’ Forum Discussion Series on Common Bile Duct Stone Management in the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Patient: Endoscopy, Surgery or Radiology?
