Dr. Takla served as part of SAGES (Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons) faculty to teach both didactic and hands-on skills in robotic surgery during this two day course which introduced fellows to robotic general surgery. A broad range of robotic procedures were covered with the emphasis placed on system set up, instrument selection, and technical approaches. The course focused on current and future robotics technology by emphasizing safe and practical applications in general surgery cases.
